Digambarkan sekelompok pekerja, memilah-milah puing-puing batu. Di belakang dua tukang bangunan, di bagian depan sebelah kiri tampak papan-papan ditumpuk. Di kejauhan tampak seorang pria dengan gerobak dorong. Pada latar belakang, ada bangunan-bangunan bertingkat yang salah satunya setengah hancur, dan crane yang tampak muncul dari balik atap gedung-gedung tersebut. Pada sudut kanan bawah terdapat nama, tahun, dan tempat. Di balik lukisan terdapat label kertas dengan nama seniman dan judul lukisan: A. Rustamadji, Pembangunan di Berlin. Nama seniman dan nama lukisan juga tertulis pada kanvas dengan menggunakan pensil.

The painting shows a group of workers, sorting through the rubble of stones. In the foreground on the left, behind the backs of two builders, are piled up planks. You can see a man with a wheelbarrow in the distance. In the background, there are half-destroyed multi-storey buildings with construction cranes, sticking out from behind the roofs. In the lower right corner is the artist's signature, the date and the name of the painting. On the reverse there is a paper label with the artist's name and the name of the painting in Indonesian – "A. Rustamaji. Pembangunan di Berlin". The artist's name and the name of the painting are also written on the canvas in pencil.
